Conduct

Code of Conduct

TL;DR

Retro Data is a space for everyone to learn, share, and contribute. Whether you’re speaking or attending, we expect you to be part of a community that values respect, curiosity, and collaboration. Be kind, be open, and help make this a great experience for all. If you experience or witness any behaviour that does not align with these values, please contact us at [email protected].

Purpose

This Code of Conduct outlines expectations for behaviour to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for all participants. Speakers, attendees, volunteers, and organisers.

What We Expect from Everyone

  • Be respectful: Treat others with kindness and consideration. Disagreement is fine, disrespect is not.
  • Be inclusive: Welcome diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Avoid language or behaviour that excludes or marginalises.
  • Be curious: Ask questions, share ideas, and engage thoughtfully. This is a space for learning and growth.
  • Be mindful: Respect the time, space, and contributions of others.
  • Be professional: Whether you’re presenting or attending, maintain a tone that reflects the collaborative spirit of the conference.

Unacceptable behaviour

We do not tolerate:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.
  • Offensive or inappropriate language, visuals, or jokes.
  • Disruption of talks or sessions.
  • Dismissive or hostile responses to questions or comments.

Reporting & Support

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please contact us at [email protected]. We will listen, take appropriate action, and ensure your safety and comfort.

Final Note

Retro Data is built on the idea that everyone has something to contribute. By showing up with respect and curiosity, you help create a space where ideas flourish and people feel welcome.
